Beyond Awareness: Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice for Helping Professionals - Expression of Interest Open

Many helping professionals support Autistic and ADHD people but have received little formal training in how to translate neurodiversity-affirming principles into everyday practice.

Senior Clinical Psychologist Catherine Bishop is developing a practical professional learning workshop designed to help attendees build confidence in supporting neurodivergent individuals across a range of settings.

The workshop is expected to explore topics such as communication differences, sensory needs, executive functioning, practical accommodations, demand avoidance, and responding when people are exploring possible neurodivergence. The focus will be on practical strategies, real-world examples, and approaches that can be applied immediately in professional practice.

Suitable for psychologists, counsellors, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and other helping professionals.

The workshop is likely to be delivered online, however, we are also interested in hearing from people who may prefer an in-person option.

Periodic Training

Join our 8-session COSP Classroom program, designed for educators. Gain vital skills in understanding children's needs, managing behaviour, and fostering compassion. Delivered in small workplace groups via online teleconference.
